VISIT

THE EXPERIENCE

Visit our home and surrounds and become part of the family for the time you are here.

Have a personalised tour of the collection with many stories along the way – both those we tell you and those you tell us.

You don’t require a background in military history to appreciate the collection. It is about social history and people living during wartime. There are evocative items such as dolls, games and jewellery, souvenirs, photograph albums and autograph books.

CATERING

Have morning or afternoon tea. There is an automatic coffee machine with 10 different options and an array of teas. Fresh scones with jam and cream can be provided if booked in advance.

While we do not serve meals here, feel free to bring your lunch and sit under cover either outside on the deck or upstairs. We also have a barbeque available for visitor use.

Host a meeting or function – morning, afternoon, evening; during the week or on a weekend.

OPENING TIMES

We are open strictly by appointment only. This means that if you want to visit, you contact us first to arrange a time and date.

We are flexible with time of the day or day of the week. We live within metres of the collection building so can have the lights on and the doors open in minutes.

We suggest you allow 1.5-2 hours for a visit. There is a great deal to see and it can be quite immersive. It is unlikely that you will see everything in one visit. Aside from the constant stream of new acquisitions, we intend to have themed exhibitions drawn from the larger collection that will change over time.

cost

COST

Entry to the collection is $25 (GST inclusive) per person with a concession price of $20 (GST inclusive) for seniors and veterans.

Group discounts can be negotiated.

There is no minimum number per visit. We can accommodate from one person through to a large coach full of visitors.

Morning or afternoon tea can be added for an extra $5 per head but must be ordered when booking so that the scones can be freshly prepared. For management reasons, we prefer that groups either opt in or out for scones.

Tea and coffee can be purchased separately for $3 per cup.

FACILITIES

The collection building has been designed to be wheelchair friendly. There are disabled and ambulant toilets and ramps to get onto the deck and upper level.

There is ample space for parking on site and room for coaches to turn around.
